– All over the world, at the end of each year, a lot of children behave better because they are warned that Santa – you know, the white-bearded guy in the red suit – will punish them if they are not nice enough. To be added to the “naughty list” and thereby deprived of gifts is a really powerful menace to curb a child’s behavior. But is it really a wise education method?

– A big number of coward parents prefer to delegate to old Santa the capital responsibility of educating their kids. Of course, telling your children that they won’t get Christmas gifts because they don’t deserve them can cause some stress at home. But putting the blame on someone else, especially a weird fictional grandfather, is not very honest. Parents could have the courage to do the “dirty work” themselves.
